The Gamble Library
Student Membership
All students enrolled with Union College and undergraduate students enrolled with Edgehill College may borrow books in accordance with the arrangements and regulations summarised below. Union students may also avail of the facilities at Edgehill Library.
Those enrolled for Queen's courses can of course also use the University Library.
Photocopiers are available for Library users and computers facilities are provided for students registered with the College.
Public Membership
Members of the public may apply to become readers on payment of a membership fee. At present the annual subscription rates are as follows:
- £20 for former students of Union Theological College and for ministers of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
- £60 for those engaged in research enabling them to borrow up to 16 books for twelve weeks
- £30 for all others.
- LIFE MEMBERSHIP is available to former students of Union for £50 within one year of leaving College and for £100 thereafter.
Public Opening Hours
The public opening hours of the Library are 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The Library will normally close completely for two weeks over Christmas and New Year, for one week at Easter, and for a period in July. See Library notice board for details.
After Hours Access for Union Students
Students registered with Union College (including part-time and evening-class students) may use the Library outside of the public opening hours. Students who wish to avail of this facility must obtain an out-of-hours pass from the College Office. Access will be available from 8.00 am to 11.00 pm Monday to Saturday (no admission to the building after 10.30pm) during term time.
