BTh Bachelor of Theology (single honours)
Summary: The majority of Union students are enrolled either for the Queen's Bachelor of Divinity (BD) or for the single-honours Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree. The main difference between the BD and the BTh is that Greek and Hebrew language modules are compulsory for BD but optional for BTh.
The main areas of study are: Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, Church History, Pastoral Theology, Greek Language, and Hebrew Language. Other options are available.

The BTh degree is a three-year course (full-time). It may also be taken part-time. It is divided into three stages, as follows:
Stage 1
- Old Testament Introduction
- New Testament Introduction
- Early Church History
- Introduction to Theological Thinking
- Two from the following: Introduction to Biblical Hebrew, Introduction to Hellenistic Greek, Introduction to Pastoral Theology, Biblical Texts.
Stages 2 & 3
Over Stages 2 & 3, students take 12 theology modules - 6 level-2 modules at Stage 2 and 6 level-3 modules at Stage 3.
Students must take at least one module (either at Stage 2 or Stage 3) from each of Old Testament; New Testament; Church History; and Philosophy/Historical Theology.
